The focus of the course will be one or more specialized areas of computer science. The teacher selects the areas after consulting the students at the start of the course, typically based one or more of the courses taken by the students earlier in this semester. The aim of the course is to make participants familiar with issues, techniques, and concepts from specialized areas of computer science.
The course is similar to a small project work: They will need to study selected literature and write a report at the end of the course; depending on topic, the emphasis may or may not be on the development of a concrete application.
