Welcome

These pages contains a brief introduction of the professional life of Jacob Carstens - web-designer and programmer:

I was raised with the C64 and the Amiga, giving me the chance to experiment with Pascal, Basic and LOGO.

I learned html, flash and programming (Java, VB, pascal, ML) during my studies @ Roskilde University in Denmark.

Got a BA in interactive media in 2000, the study is a combination of the communication and computer-science studies @ Roskilde university. This gave me the opportunity of getting a lot closer to media design and analysis as well as object oriented programming and algorithm / software design.

If you like, you can read more about my studies.

After I completed my BA, I started working with some friends under the alias tabla.dk. We did a lot of web-projects and freelance jobs dealing with usability, compatibility and flash-design. From June to September 2000 we designed and implemented the award-winning web portal netvokat.dk.

If you're curious, you can read more about these projects.

I'm planning on resuming my studies January 2002, but until then I'm open to new and exiting projects. Right now f.ex. I'm working with server-components for sound and image conversions, using Java within com+ components. I also have some open-source experience with Apache and Zope. I'm maintaining a list of (technical) skills if you'd like to know more of the technical stuff I am capable of.
