Oral exam will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 in room 43-2.29.
The exam builds on solving an assignment that is chosen by lot at my office Thursday, January 12, 2012, between 11:00 and 12:00. The assignment will deal with x86 assembly programming. The assignment requires the use of the GNU C compiler (gcc).
The solution of the assignment should be e-mailed to me by 16:00 on Monday, January 16, 2012.
When the examination begins, you should give your solution in printed form to me as well as to censor. Then present your solution. You are welcome to use a projector. The presentation must not take more than 10 minutes. You may be asked questions related to the assignment both during and after the presentation.
After the presentation, you will be asked one or more questions, drawn at random from a pool of questions. The number of questions you are asked may vary and depends upon the time taken to answer each question. The questions in the pool of questions can be found here. These are questions for review of terms and concepts used in the textbook. It would be a good idea to write down the answers and rehearse them before the exam. However, note that these written answers must not be brought into the examination room.
