Research

My dissertation is now available here

My PhD project focuses on the semantics of prepositions within the framework of the OntoQuery Project.
Based on a syntactic and semantic analysis of Danish texts, I investigate possible descriptions of prepositional senses, using a combined approach of world knowledge in the form of an ontology and a generative lexicon.
Can the inherent relation(s) of a preposition be explicated using an approach that builds on knowledge about the ontological types of the arguments, and can the same approach be used to disambiguate prepositional senses?
My supervisors are:
Associate professor Troels Andreasen
Professor Per Anker Jensen
